The Rally is run by a charity called the Friends of Wrotham Recreation Ground (commonly known as “The Friends”). It was set up over 30 years ago with a vision theat the village of Wrotham would, one day, have a new building on the recreation ground that could be used by everyone in the village.
That vision has been realised in 2013 when the Wrotham Pavilion was opened. Through the money raised through the Rally we were able to donate £60,000 towards the building of the Pavilion.
The local schools have benefited from our funding various projects including new play equipment, stage lighting, ICT suite and many more
The local bowls club needed new doors and windows for their leaking pavilion and we paid for them
Both the cricket club and bowls club have had new mowers paid for by us
……..and the croquet club got new balls.
Update 2016
We donated £22,000 towards the new children’s play area in the Recreation Ground. We worked with a team of local mums, calling themselves Wrotham Parklife, together with Wrotham Parish Council, to raise over £100,000 towards the project, providing match funding.
